In June 2016, Sister Judith joined the community of sisters residing at Nazareth Court and Center in Fond du Lac. Martha was born in New Munster, Wisconsin, on October 22, 1930, to John Kretschmer and Louisa Epping Kretschmer. From her father, Caryl learned to love nature and the outdoors, while her mother instilled in her a love for music, dance and education. After serving in Pastoral Care at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe, Wisconsin, from 19791980, Sister Mary Christopher returned to Fond du Lac for hospice training and worked for five years as a home visit nurse with Hospice Hope. Having sensed a call to religious life early on, she was particularly inspired by the spirit of the Sisters of St. Agnes, her high school teachers. There she spent her days volunteering and assisting in numerous ways to enhance the life of the sisters.
